I grew up folding fabrics in my mother's Interior Design studio, which was the beginning of my love of pattern, color and the feel of devine fabrics.

Early on I attended furniture markets and would tag along with Mom to her
client's homes or sit patiently while she wowed them with her
presentations. I learned alot from that experience. I believed I had an
innate ability to put colors and designs together and proceeded to
continue to study form and function in college. My father told me I
couldn't earn a living painting in Greenwich Village, so I decided to become
a teacher. "You'll can always fall back on teaching" were his words to
me...SO, I became an art teacher and proceeded to enjoy the journey into
the world of youthful talent. This did not last long and before I knew
it, I was married, having children and facing college tuition...all in a
very short period of time.

So...in consulting with my mother, I asked, "what should I do to help out
the kids with school?" She said, do what you know best. So I became an
Interior Designer and specialized in Historic Restoration. By this time we
were living in New England (after the farm in Ohio and a few other
moves).
Another move to Memphis, Tennessee and a complete lifestyle change (meaning a retirement) I returned to sewing, smocking and met a few gals that
mentioned a Quilt Guild.
After much prodding, I went to my first meeting, got hooked and once again I return to "feeling fabric and designing my own patterns".

As of 2002, I have been replicating several historical quilts from the
State Museum of Pennsylvania. These quilts will be in book and pattern
form and available in September, 2004. In March, 2005, the quilts will become part of a 100th year celebration in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for the State Museum. The exhibit will be called the Treasures of Pennsylvania.

If you continue to view my site you'll see the quilts and I hope you
enjoy...come back and visit soon.
